Batur Sunrise Hike

Mount Batur is an active volcano located at the center of two concentric calderas northwest of Mount Agung Bali. The southeast side of the larger 10x13 km caldera contains a caldera lake. The inner 7.5km-wide-caldera, which was formed during emplacement of Bali, has been dated back at about 23,670 to 28,500 years ago. Many travelers visit this place to enjoy the view. And the hike to its 1717m-summit will reward you an experience of visual treat like none other.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • After an early-morning pick-up at your hotel, travel by car to the base of Mount Batur. On arrival, set out to climb the volcano by night, using flashlights to guide your way and admiring the scene lit by moonlight. Within approximately one and half hours hike, we reach the summit and get to the highest viewpoint from where to watch the sunrise - the best part of the hike and a worthy reward indeed! As the sun comes up, enjoy a break with coffee or tea and steamed eggs atop the mountain while gazing out over the caldera and the glittering lakes below.
