Sekumpul waterfall is the gem of all falls in Bali. It is a cluster of six to seven narrow cascades that forms the centerpiece of a lush bamboo-forested valley.
You can reach the fall on a nature trek through the namesake village of Sekumpul located at the upland region of North Bali.
It lays hidden and often skipped by the mass crowd of tourists which makes it so adventurous.
HIGHLIGHTS
Sekumpul falls are fed by two upland streams, and is the most accessible of the collection of falls in the area. Even so getting down here requires a good deal of effort, with path comprising dirt tracks, a hundred or so steps and crossing over streams. There are two ways you can enjoy the fall. A trek leads you to purpose-built gazebos where you can cool down and catch your breath while enjoying the view of the 80m-tall majestic fall from a distance. Be prepared that the hike down will take you a good 45 minutes. Along the way, you pass through the village of Sekumpul and beautiful rice fields. About half way, you get hell of an aerial view of the falls! You can certainly stay here, get your pictures and turn around but we advise against it. The main event is waiting for you below!
Ulun Danu Temple is set in the highland of Bedugul region approximately 1500m asl, atop a plateau that sits on lake Beratan. The temple was constructed in honor of Dewi Danu, goddess of the lake that was formed by a volcanic eruption dated back 30,000 years ago. It is considered as one of Bali’s most scenic and picturesque temple.
