Munduk Trek

Munduk is Bali’s best secret perched 1000m north-side of Bali. It is one of the best place to go trekking in Bali.

Not only you will come across dense, uninhabited jungle that has not been spoiled by tourism, you will also find a multitude of waterfalls, rice fields, coffee plantation and lakes.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Ulun Danu Temple is set in the highland of Bedugul region approximately 1500m asl, atop a plateau that sits on lake Beratan. The temple was constructed in honor of Dewi Danu, goddess of the lake that was formed by a volcanic eruption dated back 30,000 years ago. It is considered as one of Bali’s most scenic and picturesque temple.
• The trek in Munduk includes visits to three waterfalls namely Red Coral, Golden Valley and Melanting waterfall. It is a combination of nature walk, bamboo bridge and stairs (some are steeps). The whole trek is enveloped by greenery.
• Rice terrace is another beautiful thing to enjoy apart from the waterfalls. Munduk rice terraces is very different from Tegalalang. The best part of it that there is next to no tourism traffic. You can walk through the rice fields without coming into contact with many other visitors. And it is only about one kilometer away from the main village.
• Whether or not you are a coffee-lover, playing a visit to Munduk Moding Plantation will be worth your while. It is the only resort in Bali situated within a working coffee plantation. The famous Luwak coffee is made here, and unlike many other coffee plantations in Bali, their beans are ethically-sourced from wild luwak (civet) rather than caged.
